At long last, photos have been posted from our "Save the Boobs & Help the Earth" event at Rare Earth Wine & Pizza Bar in June which helped members Laura & Jess Hunter raise funds for their participation in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure.  A thank you to Heather Miller who was the official photographer at the event. Check 'em out!

 

A Good Time Had By All at the Fall Horseshoe Tourney '09!

It's been about a month but the memories still linger from this year's GFVFD Horseshoe Tournament.  Amid the dust and the beers we saw some great pitching and an impressive amount of ringers.

A hearty congratulations to the winners, Brad and Rex.  Our First Place winners enjoyed $200 in prize winnings and a stunning pair of Mozkito Sandals each.

Second Place winners, Elgin and Elgin, received $140.  No sandals for them.

Our Third Place winners, Hard Knox, received $60.

Golf Tourney

Hi everybody!   Sorry this took so long, but here are some photos from the golf tournament.  We raised three thousand dollars and had a blast doing it.  Our charity will really make a difference in the lives of people who really need it.  Thanks a lot everyone!

Float Decorating/Barbeque

Meet us at Stan's house on Thursday, April 3rd from 4:00pm until ???  BYOB or wine, and come hungry because GFVFD will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs.  Feel free to bring any chips, salads, whatever you think would make this party a PARTY!

Volunteer Firefighter Rubs Elbows With D-Back's Ace

In what surely amounts to the best day of his life, Greasewood bartender and GFVFD member Patrick had the chance to wrap his arm around Brandon Webb, spill draft beer on him, and get this picture.  Patrick repeatedly stated that him and Mr. Webb share the same birthday, while Mr. Webb only looked blankly ahead, eyes glazed over.  Just kidding.  Congrats Pat!

Fiesta Days Parade

Get ready everybody!  On April 5th, whomever wants to show thier GFVFD spirit will meet at 7am at Greasewood for the annual Fiesta Days Parade.  Contact Dan Duffy for any further details on the float.  Any questions about the parade should be directed to Cindy Eberhardt.  Here are the facts so far...

      1.  J.D. is driving the tank.
      2.  Patrick is pulling the float.
      3.  Dan is the back-up.
      4.  Ken Caboda on tractor duty.
      5.  GFVFD patches are here.
      6.  A group photo will be taken at 2 pm after the parade.
      7.  Rick Parish is completing the water tank.   
      8.  Have a rocking good time, thats an order mister!

2007 Team Photo

The official picture of the brave men and women that make up the Greasewood Flat Volunteer Fire Department.  A few of these people were lucky enough to have their photos featured on the wall of post offices nationwide!  The 2008 Team Picture will be taken during the Horseshoe Tournament in April.

The 2008 Team Picture will be taken Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at 2:00pm.  The photo will be taken after the April meeting, which begins at 1:00pm.  Remember to bring your member shirts!
