Everybody Loves a Parade!

You would think after a stellar weekend of golfing we would just relax and bask in the glory of a job well done.  Instead, Stan (our Mayor) graciously opened his home for a float decorating shindig run by our decorating committee.  On Saturday we met at the crack of dawn, looking pretty, munching on delicious breakfast burritos made by our own treasurer, Deb, and gathered to take part in the Cave Creek Fiesta Days Parade! 

We threw candy at kids with such enthusiasm there may have been a few minor casualties, but a least they didn't have to wait to get to the doctor's office to get a lollipop.  The gents in charge of jumping off the float and running beads out to the parade watchers ran with gusto and I'm sure slept for days after.  The sun was shining, the crowds were smiling and cheering and even with the sheriff not far behind us we managed to stay out of trouble... it was a blast.

Cave Creek Fiesta Days Parade

...are here again!  The Cave Creek Fiesta Days Parade is taking place Saturday, April 10th and the GFVFD will be proudly marching again this year.  If you want to take part in the decorating festivities (date is still TBD) be sure to give our Chief a call or stop by and see him at Greasewood Flat.  Anyone on the committee gets an automatic place on the float.  Anyone else who wants to be on one of the floats be sure to check in with Chief Paul because spots are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Horseriders who want to participate should be in touch with our Chief as well so he can put you on the list.

Be sure to mark the date on your calendar - we're sure a good time will be had by all!

Horseshoe Tourney - March 21st, 22nd, and 28th.

Cave Creek Fiesta Days Parade - Saturday, April 4th - Please contact Paul (the Chief) or Kay Klein (Parade Chair) if you would like to ride or join the decorating committee. There will be a BBQ / decorating party at Stan's on Thursday, April 2nd starting around 4pm. BYOB and the Fire Dept. will buy the burgers and dogs.

Golf Tourney - The date has been set for May 7th, tee time will be at 7:30am.

Float Decorating/Barbeque

Meet us at Stan's house on Thursday, April 3rd from 4:00pm until ???  BYOB or wine, and come hungry because GFVFD will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs.  Feel free to bring any chips, salads, whatever you think would make this party a PARTY!

Fiesta Days Parade

Get ready everybody!  On April 5th, whomever wants to show thier GFVFD spirit will meet at 7am at Greasewood for the annual Fiesta Days Parade.  Contact Dan Duffy for any further details on the float.  Any questions about the parade should be directed to Cindy Eberhardt.  Here are the facts so far...

      1.  J.D. is driving the tank.
      2.  Patrick is pulling the float.
      3.  Dan is the back-up.
      4.  Ken Caboda on tractor duty.
      5.  GFVFD patches are here.
      6.  A group photo will be taken at 2 pm after the parade.
      7.  Rick Parish is completing the water tank.   
      8.  Have a rocking good time, thats an order mister!
